Touch-down on the sacred land..

By Navjot Randhawa

It was in July 2015 that I first came to Andretta. In September 2015 (exactly 4 years ago), I moved here. Yesterday, as other cyclical things, I arrived at the Dharamshala airport (nearest airport to Andretta) on a flight from Bombay after shooting a film very aptly titled “The Human Voice”. This time also I came after patch shooting for a beautiful film dealing with beautiful human emotions..

It is always very special to land at the Dharamshala airport. I have landed at the airports of 30 countries and many domestic airports. And I am wholly convinced that Dharamshala airport is the best one (& it has only one baggage belt) ! Not only is there a strong possibility of bumping into the most peaceful human walking our planet (read His Holiness The Dalai Lama), there is also a very rare possibility of truly enjoying socialising at an airport (even though the body & spirit might be tired)…strangers coming there from all over the world (mainly for retreats) exude so much positive energy that one forgets all the tiredness & wants to make new friends ! Of course this can happen & does happen at other airports as well but there is something special about meeting strangers at the Dharamshala airport…it is one of those things that just needs to be experienced.

Here are a few photos that I took from up in the air & soon after touch-down..
